Those in the British press predicting the demise of Girls Aloud may just have to wait a little while yet, as it’s announced that GA member Cheryl Cole (left, on an apparently chilly London evening) is officially set to join Dannii, Simon and Louis on the judging panel for the 2008 season of British talent show “The X Factor”. Her addition to the judging panel follows Sharon Osborne’s departure last week, a move insiders say was due to growing tensions between Sharon and fellow judge Dannii. Cheryl, meanwhile, has said that she’s thrilled to be a part of the TV phenomenon, but (thankfully) has ruled out a Girls Aloud split.
“The rest of the girls have said they’re right behind me, which is really important for me as it will be weird to be on the other side of the fence this time. So whilst we get started on the next album, it will be brilliant to be a judge on X Factor”, she said.
Did she just say, “next album”!? We think a little bit of wee just came out. Oh my.
