Chugg Entertainment has today announced the cancellation of Mary J Blige’s first Australian concert tour, slated for November dates in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The tour was originally postponed in early June with Mary’s team citing “weariness from an overwhelming tour schedule”. This time, the excuse is “rescheduling issues surround the existing tour schedule” and “personal commitments”. Her planned concerts in Switzerland, France and Germany were also cancelled recently with the excuse on that occasion being “technical problems”. Can we suggest that perhaps Mary’s star is not quite as bright as some would have us believe and that poor ticket sales throughout not only Australia, but Europe and New Zealand may have been the true reason for the cancellations…
