At the end of July, we launched the Great CD Singles Debate to find out about your views when it comes to CD singles, given that record companies seem hell-bent on getting rid of them. And we’ve had some great response from you in the voting process. Just a friendly reminder that if you’ve only just discovered auspOp by stroke of luck etc etc, we’d love to have YOUR input on the CD singles debate too. Do you buy CD singles? Do you import them ’cause Aussie record companies take too bloody long to release them? Would you buy more of them if they were better value? Are you a fan of two track singles? Or do you think they’re just a complete waste of time and space? We would love to hear from you! We’ll post the results on Monday week and we’ll also be sending the findings to the record companies so they can judge the results for themselves! Get crackin’! Just over one week to go before we end the auspOp Great CD Singles Debate! Voting in the right hand column, a little further down. Further… Little further…

the big celebration when cd’s hit the market in the 80’s was ‘it fits more music than a vinyl’, and cd’s were used to their full potential, what a glorious period for fans! Now with labels trying to dig themselves out of a hole, the mud keeps on hiting them in their faces…I will be upset if tomorrow Miley Cyrus’s ‘7 Things’ cd single is the 1 track that most sites, and the emi site, are boasting, 1 track on an actual cd and being around $4, of course people will download it! what a waste when there are official mixes of ‘see you again’ that should be released.

I’d buy them If there was more on them e.g. Remixes, Video, B-sides, Instrumentals & Acapella’s on the one disc – like a maxi-single!.
