We must apologise for waiting almost three weeks to write something up about the amazing new video for 23 year-old Sydney singer-songwriter Andy Bull, but here finally, is what we need to say about him. He’s truly brilliant. This song harks back to classic ’70s melodies and awesome piano-infused choruses that make your soul want to fly. And we can’t deny that we think that Mister Bull is a cunning little bugger too – his song gives you a glimpse of the soaring chorus at around the 34 second mark, but cleverly takes it away so you’re left hanging for another 30 seconds by which time the song’s got you completely hooked. Think Elton John meets Tim Freedman and you won’t be far wrong. The clip (below) sees young Andy carelessly mistake a railway track for his groovy local bar and seemingly without thinking, places his piano right in the middle of the tracks. Sadly, it meets it’s fate when it’s struck by the 5:25 from Katoomba in what must be the biggest misappropriation of a piano since Delta Goodrem set one on fire in 2004. Alas, we digress – this guy is going places. Catch the single instore on September 29 with an album to follow.
