The ‘Peter Pan of pOp’ AKA Harry Webb AKA Sir Cliff Richard, is about to notch up a rather remarkable milestone – an extraordinary 50 years in the music business. To celebrate this amazing feat, his long-time record company EMI is releasing an eight disc box set called ‘And They Said It Wouldn’t Last (My 50 Years In Music)’. Released in the UK on September 15, this collection features 185 tracks and includes rare b-sides, a ‘live in Japan’ disc, a number ones disc and comprehensively revisits his 50 year career (and for those Stock-Aitken-Waterman purists, yes, ‘I Just Don’t Have The Heart’ does get a guernsey)… The box set’s in-store date will co-incide with the release of a brand new track ‘Thankyou For A Lifetime’ – and Cliff’s hoping to have the single hit the No.1 position in the UK, which will make him the only artist to have hit the No.1 spot in six consecutive decades.
