auspOp reader Wally has tipped us off on this brand new single from Canadian soul singer Deborah Cox. The new track ‘Beautiful UR’ sees Deb returning to her r&b/pOp roots, following her dalliance with the jazz sound of her Dinah Washington tribute album ‘Destination Moon’ last year. In Australia, Deborah is probably most famous for her 1995 hit ‘Who Do U Love’, as well as for club hits ‘Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here’ and ‘Absolutely Not’. According to Deb’s OFFICIAL WEBSITE, her new album ‘The Promise’ (she and Girls Aloud obviously didn’t consult on the title) will be released in the US on November 11. The only unfortunate thing for us Aussies is that the track is (legally) unavailable to us at this stage and there’s no word on local release of the album at this stage.

Hey Anonymous!
Thanks for correcting us on this – and our apologies for not doing our homework a little more.
All fixed now.

She may live in Fort Lauderdale(close to Miami) and she probably has US citizenship but she is a native of Toronto, Canada of Guyanese decent and started as a back-up singer to Celine Dion.
