Melbourne-based duo Luc Wiesman and Marc Edwards (AKA Duosseudo) will release their debut album ‘We Are One’ early next month. And with acts like Cut Copy, Gotye and The Presets ripping the charts to shreds, we can see no good reason why these guys won’t be doing the same. Marc and Luc have also been honing their respective crafts for more than a decade, Marc in music production and Luc as a DJ and the creator of respected Aussie dance music website thescene.com.au. Standouts on the album include the first single ‘Just A Boy’ (featuring the vocals of Lydia Grant) which would be a huge smash if only commercial radio would take the chance, instrumental track ‘Spirit’ wouldn’t sound out of place on albums by Rinocerose or Royksopp and the boys’ reworking of Gotye’s ‘Hearts A Mess’ is nothing short of stomping. Album closer ‘Cassette’ with all it’s early ’80s synth lines and beats could have been ripped from the soundtrack to any movie from the decade that brought us frizzy perms and high pants. For a taste of what to expect (and we’re not talking high pants), head over to the band’s OFFICIAL MYSPACE. The album goes into stores on Monday October 06.
