It’s probably THE must-have dance compilation each and every year – and it sells by the bucketload. So we can safely expect Ministry Of Sound’s 2009 version ‘The Annual’ to do similar business when it’s released into stores on November 01. The two disc set (did Ken Done do the artwork!?) is this year mixed by John Course and Goodwill, with 44 tracks mixed over the release. Artists adorning the mix this year include David Guetta, Martin Solveig, Fedde Le Grand, The Ting Tings and Axwell on disc one (John Course) and an impressive line-up of Australian talent including Empire Of The Sun, Lovers Electric, Sneaky Sound System, Pnau and Ladyhawke (okay, Pip’s originally from New Zealand, but we’ll gladly claim her as our own when we need to). In a first for The Annual in 2009 though, a USB Wristband version will also be available. It’s not only packed with the two mixed versions of The Annual, but also all 44 tracks UNMIXED, so DJs around the country can upload them to their computers and bang them out at gigs! Genius! CD copy is in-store November 01, with the USB Wristband version in-store on November 08.
