It’ll be interesting to see how this track performs in next weekend’s UK singles chart… Co-written by Take That’s Gary Barlow, this track is the culmination of a British spoof TV show of reality TV shows. The ‘reality show’? Britain’s Got The Pop Factor And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice. The winner? Geraldine McQueen, played to absolute perfection by British comedian Peter Kay, a former warm-up man for Michael ‘Parky’ Parkinson. ‘BGTPFAPANCJCSSSOI’ lampooned today’s reality shows to absolute perfection, even roping in SAW’s Pete Waterman as a judge and Cat Deeley (host of the US version of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’) as the host. Just seeing Geraldine bouncing around with Cat in the clip brought tears to our eyes. It’s so accurate in it’s portrayal of these reality shows, it’s scary – and Geraldine’s whispered ‘thankyou’ at the end of the clip had us reaching for the oxygen bottle. We assume it’ll be a UK release only, but already the push is on to get it to No.1 on next week’s UK charts.
