While we patiently await the arrival of Ms Britney Spears’ new video for ‘Womanizer’, we thought we’d give a little news wrap…
* The Boyzone boys are most certainly coming to Australia soon for a promotional tour in support of their best-of album (November 7 is being touted as the day the boys arrive), but more bizarrely is the rumour that the boys are looking at doing some side shows whilst they’re in the country.
* More details are starting to emerge about Tina Arena’s forthcoming release ‘Songs Of Love And Loss – Volume 2’, due for release in mid-November. A clip posted on Youtube reveals that Tina has also covered Lulu’s ‘Oh Me Oh My’ and the Petula Clark classic ‘Downtown’.
* Former george vocalist Katie Noonan is set to release her new album ‘Blackbird’ in November. The new album, the follow up to 2007’s ‘Skin’ is the first with her new label SonyBMG and will see the singer covering classic Lennon/McCartney compositions. She’s also set to perform dates in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in December with tickets for all four shows already on sale.
* Take That’s new single ‘Greatest Day’ will hit radio in the UK early on Monday morning GMT. The single is the first from the band’s upcoming as-yet-untitled fifth studio album, due for release in Australia on November 29.
* Around a thousand mourners attended yesterday’s funeral of Australian Idol performer Levi Kereama, who was found dead in Brisbane on the weekend. Fellow Idol Guy Sebastian performed ‘Amazing Grace’ in a touching tribute.
* We’ve heard rumour that contrary to information obtained from PlayMPE’s digital delivery service and despite pressure from fans all over the world (including us here at auspOp), Warner Music Australia has ultimately decided NOT to release a CD single for Kylie’s ‘The One’ in Australia. But according to a source, there might be something exciting for Kylie’s Aussie fans just around the corner.

Given ‘The Winner Takes It All’ has been recorded as a TV show theme, we assume it won’t make it to CD single. Shame though – it’d surely be a shoe-in for the UK Christmas No.1

sigh. why has the one been so mistreated around the world :( Oh well, a single of Winner Takes It All would be nice, some remixes would be better and an Especially For You style Dannii-Kylie video would be fab.

Thankyou :) I Must Say I Love This Blog SOOOOOO MUCH! I Used to be just a viewer, but now i just cant help myself!
I Guess that’s what i’ll have to do. Damn Sugababes, all they do is just promote themselves locally. If Island (Their Label) put in both the effort and money, they would easily be an international hit.
I had recieved the B-Side to the Girls single today and it is BRILLIANT.

Blake,
Just to keep you posted – Sugababes’ single and album were on the Aussie release schedule a few weeks ago, but they’ve both now disappeared. We’re assuming they’ll do a release in the new year.
May we suggest importing both single and album from the UK?
