Manchester indie darlings The Ting Tings hit the top spot on the UK singles chart earlier this year with a re-release of their debut single ‘That’s Not My Name’. The same single hit the No.15 spot on the official singles chart here in Australia, with their album ‘We Started Nothing’ peaking at No.22. The duo’s fourth single is now waiting in the wings and it’s another slice of the quintessential Brit-pOp sound we’ve come to know and love The Ting Tings for. The video; Poor Katie’s in hospital, hooked up to heart bleep machines and a drip ’cause she had some really dodgy curry two nights ago, when all of a sudden (and without an expert diagnosis), she decides that it’s time to leave. Escaping via the stairwell in her inconspicuous three-quarter length red jacket, she happens upon two beanie-clad gentlemen holding an enormous LCD screen that they picked up cheap at ASDA. Meanwhile, her bandmate Jules is being hounded by two young ladies in sexy hosiery who may or may not be offering him sexual services in return for hundreds of pounds in coins. Luckily for us he completely ignores their advances (he’s got the rest of the clip to finish, you see) and meets up with his bandmate, whereupon the duo hop into a lovely convertible and pretend to drive off. They conclude the clip with Katie playing guitar and Jules playing keys BEHIND THE WHEEL before the camera pans out to reveal that indeed, they’d not even taken off in the first place, the jolly trickers.
