It’s taken just over five months to achieve the feat, but Vanessa Amorosi’s single ‘Perfect’ has this week been awarded it’s platinum sales accreditation for sales of 70,000 copies. The track, co-written by fellow Melbourne singer David Franj, was released on CD single on April 26 and went on to become the most played song on Australian radio. The song becomes part of an elite club of only four Aussie singles to have broken through the platinum barrier in 2008, joining Gabriella Cilmi’s ‘Sweet About Me’, Sam Sparro’s ‘Black And Gold’ and The Veronicas’ ‘Untouched’ in reaching the milestone. Vanessa, meanwhile, kicks off an Australian tour on October 15, including shows at the Spiegeltent for both it’s Melbourne and Sydney appearances.
