So it’s late on a Wednesday evening and we’re in the mood for sax with two scantily clad guys who are sitting immobilised on the couch, their balls swinging gently from side to side. Then along comes Sweden’s Emma Essinger to make all our wildest sax pOp dreams come true. We’re trying to remember the last time someone used saxophone so prevalently within a pOp song and our minds can only hark back to the heady days of Kenny G or Dave Koz (good times). But the Swedish songstress incorporates the wind instrument into her new single ‘Say Say Say’ with great effect – like most Swede-music these days, it’s edgy, fun, futuristic pOp. But you gotta feel sorry for Emma – it doesn’t matter how outrageous the outfits that she puts on are, she just can’t seem the get the boys’ attention. We can’t even begin to imagine why…?
