Just two days ago, the future of the Future Music Festival’s Sydney event was under a cloud after authorities asked Randwick City Council to impose a 6pm curfew on the yearly event. We’re happy to report that the council has decided against imposing the curfew, but instead has decided to reduce capacity at the event from 35,000 to 25,000 in an effort to appease residents’ concerns.
So it’s on in earnest – and has been penned in take place on February 28, 2009, later in Perth and Brisbane. And if the line-up that’s already been announced is anything to go by, tickets for the events will sell fast when they go on sale on December 08.
Dance gods Basement Jaxx, N.E.R.D. with Pharrell performing live, Brazilian electropOp act CSS, Paul Oakenfold, Tocadisco, Joachim Garraud, Steve Angello – the list goes on. It’s going to be huge – and no doubt one of the events on the summer calendar.
February 28 : Sydney (Randwick Racecourse)
March 01 : Perth (Wellington Square)
March 07 : Brisbane (Doomben Racecourse)
