Councillors at Sydney’s Randwick City Council will tonight decide on the future of the Sydney leg of the Future Music Festival. The 2009 date in Sydney looks uncertain after complaints by local residents prompted council staff to ask the event be imposed with a 6pm curfew. Organisers of the event had asked for a capacity increase to cope with demand – to 50,000 revellers and have said that next year’s ticket price also includes public transport to and from the venue. N.E.R.D. and Basement Jaxx are booked to headline next year’s event. Councillors at Randwick City Council will vote on the concert’s curfew and capacity changes tonight.
