It’s without doubt one of the most radio-friendly songs on his new album ‘Songs For You, Truths For Me’ and it brings together the soulful (Mister James Morrison) with the sexy (Miss Nelly Furtado) into a smidge under four and a half minutes of pure pOp poetry. So to the clip; James is sitting on a bed with a musical instrument for company, nothing on the television, in a cheap but tastefully decorated hotel room. What else is he to do but strike up a tune on the guitar. Unbeknownst to him, Nelly Furtado, with her funky black bob is stalking him from behind a pane of mirrored glass. She pines, as she watches him pace back and forth within his room (he’s quite obviously getting a little claustrophobic) and decides to belt out her bit of the tune to calm him. All of a sudden, things start exploding – first the vase, then the television set, then his guitar – and of course, with all these explosions going off, the room catches on fire. But wait – James obviously doesn’t hear the fire detector over the music and he stupidly sits on the end of the bed, strumming a guitar (he obviously had a spare), while we scream at the screen “BEHIND YOU! BEHIND YOU!” Gosh.
