* The current Australian tour for violin god Andre Rieu has been so successful, the singer has already announced plans to return to Australia in October next year for an Arena tour. The tour is expected to take in dates in all the major capitals, but the concerts will be much more intimate affairs than those on his current tour.
* Fans of rapper 50 Cent will be dismayed that his forthcoming album’s release has been postponed. The singer had been working furiously to finish the new album ‘Before I Self Destruct’ before Christmas, but has failed in his efforts. The album, complete with a feature length DVD, will now hit the stores in February 2009.
* Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has used the band’s website to joke that his band would be thrilled to open for Take That on their forthcoming UK tour. The singer revealing the band recently performed an impromptu performance of Take That’s classic ‘Back For Good’ whilst on their tour, “We sang the whole thing, word for word, with all the right chords on our piano, without having to learn it or anything. It was great”, he said. Coldplay’s Viva La Vida (Special Edition) along with the Prospekt’s March EP both go on sale next weekend.
* And finally, auspOp hears that the recent renewed hopes that Madonna would finally make a return to Australian shores early in the new year have been permanently dashed, due to the weak US dollar.

With regards to the 50 Cent story.. Despite what his publicist has said, he HAS already finished the album (as a matter of fact, he said on the Tyra Banks Show that he had completed it BEFORE he had released “Curtis”).. The record label has pushed back the release because his first single FLOPPED and there is NO buzz towards him anymore!
