It’s down to these to young men, Australia – Luke Dickens and Wes Carr will tonight ascend the steps of the Sydney Opera House to discover just who will walk away with the title of ‘2008 Australian Idol’. Both boys have had a fairytale run to the finish, one was a Johnny Young Talent School student and the other was a sheep shearer. There’s no doubt that the 2008 Australian Idol competition has changed both of their lives forever.
Organisers of the outdoor concert are keeping their eye on the weather radar tonight with Sydney experiencing light rainfall throughout the afternoon – though they remain hopeful that the festivities will go ahead as planned.
Former Idol Jessica Mauboy will belt out her new single ‘Burn’ in what’s expected to be an electrifying performance, along with other special guests and performances.
The show begins at 7:30pm AEST tonight on Network 10, with voting closing at 8:30pm AEST.
