MARIAH CAREY : All I Want For Christmas Is You

The testament to a good Christmas album we feel is that it continues to be played years down the track – and after fourteen years, Mariah’s Christmas album – and this song in particular – continues to get good mileage each and every festive season. We reckon it’s purely and simply because Mariah encapsulated perfectly the spirit of the season on the disc, with her soaring vocals and gospel-inspired back-up. And it connected on a huge scale – since 1994, the album has gone on to sell more than ten million copies throughout the world, almost five million of those in the US alone.
So as a way of sharing the spirit of the holiday season, we present ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ as our Lookback clip. The video featured more baubles, presents, snow, Santas and trees than you could poke a candy cane at, plus a dog dressed up as a reindeer, some real reindeers and a sled. It all looks so inviting, we think we might just have to sit beneath the mistletoe with a cup of egg nog and wait to share the love.
