For those among us who just can’t get enough of Aussie umpteen-piece outfit The Cat Empire in live mode, 2009 is going to be a particularly good year. Not only will the band release a brand new 2DVD set and a new live album in February, but the band is taking to the road once again in celebration of their release.
The CD, ‘Live On Earth’ features in excess of 20 tracks, recorded at the band’s live gigs all around the world, from London, Sydney, Paris, New York and Montreal to the band’s home turf in Melbourne, all remastered to perfectly encapsulate the band’s live experience.
The DVD, ‘Live At The Bowl’ was filmed at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl and features a full-length live concert, while a second disc allows you to join the band backstage at the concert and provides glimpses of some rarely seen highlights of the band’s history.
And if the releases weren’t enough to tempt you, The Cat Empire is embarking on a national tour throughout February and March, taking in dates in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT.
