DANNII MINOGUE : All I Wanna Do
We love Dannii. She always seems to know where music is headed and in most cases, she’s usually one of the first ones to break the style. Take ‘All I Wanna Do’, for example. Take away the sex-kitten, blonde bombshell new look she unveiled in her 1997 clip and you have Dannii way ahead of the trend, stepping out under the production of one of today’s most in demand and influential production teams – Xenomania. They’ve since worked with Girls Aloud, Franz Ferdinand, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Sugababes, Cher, Kylie and even our own Gabriella Cilmi. They’re also co-producing the new album for the Pet Shop Boys. But Dannii is really where the Xenomania revolution began, way back in 1997. For now though, let’s hope that those rumours of a Dannii/Freemasons collaboration turn out to be true – it’s one of our pOp wishes for ’09.

What an amazing time this era was for Dannii…and it shows that even though there were reports of her only selling 5,000 copies of ‘Girl’ in the UK in 1997, that sort of figure could grab a top 10 album placing in Australia these days!
