At the tender age of 21, most of us are still busy running up our HECS debts at university or working in a job we perceive to be dead-end. Not Jazmine Sullivan. At just 21 years of age, the Philadelphia native has already experienced chart success in her homeland, releasing her debut album ‘Fearless’ to critical acclaim in the US late last year. But now it’s Australia’s turn to fall under Jazmine’s spell – and she seems to have all the ingredients to succeed in our US-focussed charts. Debut album co-produced (among others) by Missy Elliot and production team Stargate, nominations for an extraordinary FIVE Grammy Awards (including Best New Artist and Best R&B Song for her debut Aussie single ‘Bust Your Windows’. She’s sexy, street-smart and savvy and by the looks of the clip, she’s been scorned too, taking out revenge on her six-packed ex by defacing his paintings, busting out the windows on his car and taking his collection of expensive watches for a dip. She’s one extraordinarily talented young artist. We just wouldn’t want to cross her. Listen out for her on Australian radio soon.
