Universal Music has announced today that it will further enhance it’s catalogue within Australia after the acquisition of local rights to the Hollywood Music catalogue from local rival EMI. Owned by the Walt Disney company, the Hollywood stable of artists includes the Jonas Brothers, Hanna Montana, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, the High School Musical franchise, Jesse McCartney and Demi Lovato. The new agreement between Universal Music Australia and Disney will commence on April 01, with the local record company today revealing they’ll soon be revealing details of the CD release of the highly anticipated Hannah Montana Movie soundtrack, as well as a new release from teen sensations the Jonas Brothers, presumably the 3D Concert Experience on CD and DVD.
Universal Music Australia has been signing distribution deals right left and centre throughout the past 18 months, inking with ABC Music, Central Station Records, Eleven, Liberation, Ministry Of Sound, Modular and now Hollywood/Disney.
