Can you believe it!? It’s now less than a week before some of Europe’s finest hit the stages of Moscow’s Indoor Olympic Sports Arena for the semi finals of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. And as the days count slowly down, auspOp ramps up it’s coverage of the entries that will be vying for glory in this year’s competition, now with two posts each day, one each for the remaining countries we’ve yet to cover. The grand final from Moscow is to be screened on delayed telecast on Australia’s SBS on Sunday May 17.
CROATIA : Igor Cukrov – Lijepa Tena
All we can say about the video clip for Croatia’s entry for Eurovision 2009 is it is truly beautiful, with stunning floating and smoke effects, layered atop a beautiful acoustic guitar-filled tune. 24 year old singer Igor came to light on Croatia’s answer to Idol, ‘Operacija Trijumf’ and ‘Lijepa Tena’ is his first single. And with his classic looks and a bevy of saucy women heating up the background of the video clip, there’s no way known he can’t succeed.
