Can you believe it!? It’s now less than a week before some of Europe’s finest hit the stages of Moscow’s Indoor Olympic Sports Arena for the semi finals of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. And as the days count slowly down, auspOp ramps up it’s coverage of the entries that will be vying for glory in this year’s competition, now with two posts each day, one each for the remaining countries we’ve yet to cover. The grand final from Moscow is to be screened on delayed telecast on Australia’s SBS on Sunday May 17.
LATVIA : Intars Busulis – Probka
Let’s hope there are no traffic problems for Intars Busulis as he makes his way to Moscow for the finals of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest – ‘Probka’ translates as ‘Traffic Jam’, but the song will be performed in Russian in the second semi final, held mid-way through this week. It’s incredibly high energy (apart from a couple of bridges in the song), the clip mostly in black and white, and the song deals with Intars’ terrible experiences in the traffic – something we can all relate to.
