* Universal Music is behind the new release for Aussie hip-hop outfit Hilltop Hoods, with the outfit’s new single ‘Chase That Feeling’ (pictured) hitting the shops on Friday May 22. It will be followed up by the band’s fifth album ‘State Of The Art’, due out June 12.
* Congratulations go to Kate Miller-Heidke who, along with her partner, has picked up the Grand Prize at the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, the first time in the competition’s history that the major prize has been won by an Australian artist. The couple won for their hit single ‘Caught In The Crowd’, a song about schoolyard bullying which has touched many lives throughout Australia. The couple picks up a cool $64,000 prize for their efforts!
* While we’re still waiting for Jessica Mauboy to tell us the title of her new single on networking site Twitter, the fan sites are lighting up with the news that the new single is to be ballad ‘Because’, albeit a re-recorded version of it.
* Will Young is recovering at home in the UK after having emergency surgery last week to have his tonsils removed.
* And before treating us all to his brand new single ‘Young Man’, incredible Aussie talent Andy Bull has announced a three date residency at Spectrum at the city end of Sydney’s famous Oxford Street. Andy’s debut album is due to drop later in the year.
