KAVANA : Crazy Chance
One of a swag of artists to come out of the UK in the mid 1990s, we actually reckon Kavana was a little ahead of his time. This is where it all started for the singer – back in 1996. ‘Crazy Chance’ was also remixed and re-released a year later. But after a couple of top ten hits in his homeland and chart success in Australia with his cover of the Shalamar classic ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’, Kav’s pOpularity slid before his second album’s release was cancelled in the UK, but released here in Australia. It spawned the singles ‘Special Kind Of Something’ (way ahead of it’s time), ‘Funky Love’ and ‘Will You Wait For Me’. Thankfully, his being dropped from EMI in 1999 didn’t dampen his enthusiasm for the genre and he’s still writing and recording music to this day.
