The 2009 APRA Awards have been run and won at last night’s ceremony at The Peninsula in Melbourne. There were a few surprise winners on the night, but in all, it was a celebration of the best in Australian music. Beyond the award winners below (in bold), Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes from dance outfit The Presets were crowned APRA Songwriter Of The Year. Chairman of Sony Music Australia, Denis Handlin, was presented with the Ted Albert Award for outstanding services to the Australian music industry by singer John Farnham. The awards ceremony will be telecast on Foxtel’s Max on Sunday July 05 at 8:30pm. Congratulations to all nominees and winners of this year’s awards.
