We believe so, yes.
When albums were released on Saturdays, some retail stores were being cheeky and started selling copies of albums/singles on the Friday night. So to combat this, record companies decided to change the release dates to a Friday.
As such, ARIA now counts each week to be between 12:01am Fridays to midnight Thursday night.

July 9, 2009 at 5:19 amIt’s been a terribly long time, yes! The track went to radio in Australia on June 17. BUT the good news is, Elle, according to Universal Music, the track will be released to Itunes… Tomorrow! Friday July 10!
