* Liberation Music has announced they they’ve penned a worldwide deal with Melbourne outfit Little Red (pictured). The band, whose single ‘Coca Cola’ ripped up Triple J’s Hottest 100 chart last year, have also inked a worldwide publishing deal with Mushroom Music. The band looks set to start recording their next album towards the end of the year.
* EMI Australia has announced a brand new Norah Jones album. The new, as yet untitled album looks set for a November release and will feature collaborations with singer songwriter Ryan Adams and a slightly different shift in musical direction. More details to follow.
* Speaking of jazz artists, Universal Music has announced they they’ve not only secured the Australian distribution rights for the prestigious Savoy Label Group in the US, but that they’ve also scored the international rights to some of Frank Sinatra’s classic titles. They’ll begin with a 40th Anniversary Edition of Sinatra’s classic ‘My Way’ set later in the year.
* US outfit All American Rejects impressed many at Sydney’s Paddington Uniting Church on Thursday night when they took to the stage as part of the 2009 Kia Soul Live At The Chapel series. For fans who weren’t lucky enough to be part of the invite-only audience, you can catch the performance when it airs on Channel 7 on Sunday September 20 at 1pm and on Channel [V] on Saturday October 17 at 5pm.
* And the line-up for the reborn Divas Live franchise in the United States, set down for a September 17 performance in New York, looks a little light on the ‘Diva’ so far. Confirmed to play are Adele, Leona Lewis, Miley Cyrus and Kelly Clarkson. Where’s Jennifer Hudson please? Alicia Keys? Perhaps a return for Whitney?
