* Icelandic outfit Gus Gus will return next month with ’24/7′. It’s release will mark two firsts for the band; the band’s first album in two years and the band’s first album with new record label Kompakt. It features six tracks and will be released via Stomp in Australia on September 18.
* A throng of big name producers have been roped in to remix some of Michael Jackson’s earlier material for ‘Michael Jackson – The Remix Suite’, due on October 30. The likes of The Neptunes, Dallas Austin, Akon, Rodney Jerkins and Stargate are on the mix on tracks from Michael’s Motown days.
* Ricki-Lee’s new single ‘Don’t Miss You’ has entered the independent music charts at No.1 this week, debuting at No.4 on the ARIA Australian singles chart and No.4 on the ARIA physical singles chart. The singer’s new album is due in October.
* Is former S-Club star Rachel Stevens making a long-awaited chart comeback? According to the team at DIGITAL SPY in the UK, the ‘So Good’ and ‘Some Girls’ singer has teamed up with ’90s dance outfit 2 Unlimited to record a cover version of the amazing Wendy Moten ballad ‘Come In Out Of The Rain’.
* Aussie fans of Mariah Carey might not have got their hands on a physical single for ‘Obsessed’ but it IS available in the United States. It’s been released this week through the country’s Walmart stores.
* Local songstress Sarah Blasko will be joined on forthcoming tour dates by Sweden’s El Perro Del Mar. The singer will release her new album ‘Love Is Not Pop’ through independent label Inertia in Australia on September 11.
* And the gang from Melbourne remix aces Duosseudo have done a number of the new Bertie Blackman track ‘Thump’. The boys’ remix is now available on iTunes HERE.
