Newton Faulkner had us wrapped around his little finger two years ago with his desperately addictive single ‘Dream Catch Me’. It was a top five hit in Australia (the highest chart in the world) and was all over radio. So we’re expecting similar success with his new single ‘If This Is It’. What starts off as a melancholic, stripped back vocal and string number quickly escalates into a feel-good heart-felt anthem about stopping the hands of time and soaking in the now. And that’s precisely what the singer achieves in the clip for the song. While he plays, the world around him has stopped and we see some pretty sensational still-life effects, from a man falling to earth to a plane overhead to the middle of a store robbery and a kids’ playground. It’s quite the cinematic piece to accompany a delightfully positive song.

Fantastic new single from Newton. He always seems to come up with something different. Saw him do this live – singing, playing guitar and the bass line with his feet. I thought guys couldn’t multi-task!
