* We’re assuming that her local record company is now trying to cash in on the outrage created at last weekend’s MTV VMAs in the US where Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech, but Universal Music last night sent Taylor Swift’s new single ‘Fifteen’ to radio in Australia.
* Turmoil in the Sugababes camp over the weekend, with a suggestion that Amelle Berrabah is set to quit the girl group. And while their record company is yet to confirm the split, where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire – and it couldn’t have come at a worse time, with the band’s seventh album ‘Sweet 7’ already in the bag and set for release in the UK soon.
* Speaking of turmoil, the gang at Aussie pop outfit Panjo 5 are apparently looking for a new name for the band – no word yet on the reason for the change.
* The cast of Glee were mobbed at their Melbourne and Sydney instores over the weekend, fans clammering to catch a glimpse of their new TV heroes. The team also score themselves a No.21 hit with the single ‘Don’t Stop Believin”.
* Muse have hammered themselves into the No.1 position on the ARIA albums chart with their new album ‘The Resistance’. How many copies did it sell? We’ll reveal all with our regular ‘Chart Watch’ segment later this morning.
* Aussie songstress Kate Miller-Heidke is one happy cat, with both her single ‘The Last Day On Earth’ and album ‘Curiouser’ reaching platinum status for sales of more than 70,000 copies of each.
* And in Twitter news, hot new pop songstress Eva Simons has a new addiction, Andy Bull’s home from his tour, Renee Cassar’s a big fan of macaroni and cheese and Anthony Callea scoffed an entire box of BBQ shapes yesterday!
