* British outfit Maximo Park has announced an Australian tour. The band will visit Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth (in that order) on November 11, 12, 13, 15 and 17 respectively. Tickets for all dates go on sale on Friday September 11.
* British girl group Sugababes (whose new single ‘Get Sexy’ was released in the UK on Monday – though we can’t show you the video ’cause they won’t give us the embed codes) has revealed that their forthcoming album, the band’s seventh will be called ‘Sweet 7’. No word on local release for either single or album yet.
* Sony Music has revealed they’ll be releasing the Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits album in Australia on Friday October 30. The best of will cover the band’s 15 year history and will also include two new tracks, ‘Wheels’ and ‘Word Forward’.
* Sony has also announced details of the new R.Kelly album. Entitled ‘Untitled’, the new album, the singer’s tenth, is set for an Australian release on Friday October 09.
* Melbourne outfit Belle Roscoe are heading home next week after their incredible successes in Europe, including playing the Cinema De La Plage at the Cannes Film Festival. They’ll join Diana Anaid as support for her two Melbourne gigs in October.
* The Pet Shop Boys will release a third single from their latest album ‘Yes’, but it’s only in Germany. auspOp reader Mark tells us the physical single for ‘Beautiful People’, due to be released in Germany later this month, will feature the album and demo versions of the title track, a remix by Vinny Vero and the Richard X radio remix of ‘Fugitive’.
* And in ‘things you find out on Twitter’ news this morning, we’ve discovered that the Rogue Traders have finally been given the go-ahead on the first single with their (as yet unnamed) new vocalist, Zoe Badwi has unveiled the title of her new single – ‘In The Moment’ and Mika had chopped carrots for breakfast.
