We were positive after Alexandra’s win on last year’s X Factor in the UK that she’d be heading down the same track stylistically as Leona Lewis – big ballads, soaring vocals and all, especially after her stirring rendition of the Leonard Cohen classic ‘Hallelujah’ on the X Factor final. But just when we’d popped her in the balladville box, out jumps Alexandra with ‘Bad Boys’ – the first single from her forthcoming album ‘Overcome’.
With the help of Flo Rida, a stunning silver coined frock and some of the scariest, most glamorous heels we ever clapped eyes on, the song begins as a traditional urban-tinged pop track, before the chorus bursts in like a fresh SClub-esque breeze.
Alexandra then has a little bionic episode and tosses a few blokes around, one of them through the venue door, before she pops out for a little rendezvous with Flo Rida and a dance with all the ‘bad boys’ who all of a sudden don’t seem so bad after all.
