BACHELOR GIRL : Buses And Trains
Well here’s a good Aussie pop track if ever there was one. It didn’t matter where you went or with who in 1998, pretty much everyone in the country knew the lyrics to Bachelor Girl’s debut single ‘Buses And Trains’. And whether you walked under the bus or got hit by the train, chances are you were into the song, which peaked very near the top of the Australian singles chart. The clip centres around singer Tania Doko making a video for her mum (let’s call her Mama Doko) asking her about all the things that she should have taught her but never did. This is, of course, not to insinuate that Mama Doko wasn’t a great mother. It’s clear is – or her daughter wouldn’t have cared enough to make a video clip for her. Her BG co-creator James also makes an appearance, popping onto the couch to strum a few notes on his guitar and tinkle a bit on the plastics (can keyboards have ivories!?).
