* It hasn’t taken long, but Australian Idol winner Stan Walker has knocked Ke$ha off the No.1 position on the iTunes chart with his debut single ‘Black Box’. The single was released digitally after Stan’s win over Hayley Warner on Sunday night’s Grand Final.
* Universal Music has revealed they’ll be releasing a physical single of ‘Hazardous’ – the title track and second single from Vanessa Amorosi’s latest album. The single is set for physical release on December 11 and is at radio now.
* With the band at No.1 on this week’s ARIA albums chart, Universal Music has taken the initiative and sent the next Powderfinger single out to radio. ‘Burn Your Name’ is the second single to be lifted from the band’s new long player ‘Golden Rule’.
* Also at radio this week is Daniel Merriweather’s ‘Impossible’, a re-service of Mika’s single ‘Rain’ following his Idol performance, the new Muse single ‘Undisclosed Desires’ and David Guetta remixes of the Madonna single ‘Revolver’.
* Sony Music has revealed a physical single release for Gossip’s single ‘Love Long Distance’. It’s also due to go into retails stores on December 11.
* Eminem will release a deluxe edition of his album ‘Relapse’ in Australia on December 18. The repackage of his latest album comes as the highly anticipated ‘Relapse 2’ is shelved until the new year. The new version of ‘Relapse’, called ‘Relapse : Refill’ will feature seven bonus tracks, five of them never heard before.
* The team at ARIA has revealed the first round of presenters for the 2009 ARIA Awards this Thursday night – and unlike the hosts of the show, they’re all part of the Australian music industry. Missy Higgins, Vanessa Amorosi, Powderfinger, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Orianthi and Ruby Rose will take to the stage to present various awards. Catch it on the Nine Network this Thursday night.
* Crowded House will headline the West Coast Blues And Roots Festival in the Fremantle Park, Fremantle, WA. John Butler’s also on the bill, along with Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes and the UK’s Newton Faulkner. Tickets for the March 28 event go on sale on Monday November 30.
* And Channel [V] has revealed the three finalists in the 2009 Search For A Presenter. The finalists are (from left to right below), Ryan Stuart from Newcastle NSW, Jordan Loukas from Sydney NSW and Billy Russell from Melbourne VIC. The winner will be announced on December 05, live from Homebake in Sydney.
