* Aussie singer/guitarist Orianthi, whose debut long player popped into the ARIA albums chart this week, has been announced as the support act for the Sydney only concert for visiting pop singer Mika. Tickets are still on sale for the November 24 gig at the Enmore Theatre.
* Rogue Traders have finally revealed the identity of their new vocallist, just one week before their new single ‘Love Is A War’ is taken to local radio. The lucky lady is Mindy (Melinda) Jackson. We don’t want to say ‘we told you so’, but she’s the very same Melinda Jackson we hinted at back in August (site HERE). Call it a hunch.
* New music out to radio in Australia today include the new single from Jessica Mauboy, ‘Let Me Be Me’, Grinspoon’s new single ‘Summer’, the Ronan Keating/Kate Ceberano Christmas duet ‘It’s Only Christmas’, The McClymonts’ single ‘Wrapped Up Good’ and Hilltop Hoods’ ‘The Light You Burned’. * Warner Music has also taken the first local single for Virgin Islands native Iyaz to radio today. ‘Replay’ rocketed to No.4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US this week and was the week’s biggest airplay gainer.
* Hayley Warner and Stan Walker are the last two standing on Australian Idol 2009. The pair will hit the steps of the Opera House on Sunday night in the hope of being crowned the victor of this year’s competition. The telecast on Network Ten from 7:30pm this Sunday.
* Speaking of Idol Grand Final, Ricki-Lee is set to hit the stage on the night to perform her brand new single ‘Hear No, See No, Speak No’. In what surely must be a total, complete and utter co-incidence, the single also hits the stores this weekend.
* Paul Dempsey has revealed he’ll release his new single ‘Fast Friends’ this Friday. The digital bundle comes complete with acoustic b-sides recorded at his iTunes Store performance in Sydney earlier in the year.
* And on the Tweeter side of life, it’s Kate Miller-Heidke’s birthday today (happy b’day, KMH!), Deborah Cox loves eating ‘cotton candy’ (fairy floss to you and us), and JLS are celebrating a No.1 album in the UK!

Hey Brad,
No word on the press release, though Warner’s usually pretty good in getting their new radio tracks to retail pretty quickly.
We’d hedge our bets that it’ll be digitally available by the end of the week.

Any news on a release date for “Replay” by Iyaz in Australia now that it has been taken to radio?

Anthony wasn’t talking about Melinda Jackson, though. He posted a picture along with his tweet which was of him and James Ash’s wife (who is also called Melinda). ;)
