* Girl Talk may be bringing his crazy antics back to Australia for appearances at the Big Day Out Festivals throughout January, but the artist also knows as Gregg Gillis has also announced two side shows while he’s in the country. He’ll play The Palace in Melbourne on January 20 and the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on January 25. Tickets for both shows are on sale Friday November 13.
* More Big Day Out sideshows, with The Mars Volta also announcing their intentions to play three headlining shows while they’re on Aussie shores. They’ll play The Tivoli in Brisbane on January 18, Hordern Pavillion in Sydney on January 20 and Melbourne’s Festival Hall on January 25. Tickets for all shows are on sale Monday November 16.
* It seems there’s no late nights for dancefloor diva Sarah McLeod these days – she’s set to launch her single ‘Tell Your Story Walking’ in Sydney later this month with a very respectable starting time of 11am! The video for the new track is set to premiere within the next two weeks.
* EMI has announced that the video clip for the new Robbie Williams single ‘You Know Me’ will make it’s international debut tomorrow. The clip will premiere exclusively on the singer’s Myspace page.
* Meanwhile Rob has been telling UK chat show host Johnathon Ross that plans are most definitely afoot to reunite with his former Take That bandmates in the future.* New promotional shots have emerged of soul diva Angie Stone (left). The singer’s new album ‘Unexpected’ is set for released in the US later this month, but Australian audiences will have to wait until late January to get their mitts on a local copy.
* Aussie outfit Powderfinger has delivered a first over at the iTunes store. They’re the first Australian band to release a iTunes LP, providing plenty of extras for eager fans including animated lyrics and liner notes, performance videos, band photos and other bonus material. * US Rock outfit The Decemberists have sold out their Melbourne show at the city’s Billboard Nightclub on January 24. Fans who’ve missed out on seeing the band in Melbourne, don’t despair – they’ve just announced another show at the same venue the night after, January 25. Tickets are on sale now.
* Britney Spears seems to have the press all in a lather having touched down in Perth for the first show as part of her ‘Circus’ tour of Australia. She’s avoided the media (and her fans) completely, even employing the services of a lookalike to put everyone off the scent. * And finally, Sydney community radio station FBi will finally see their ‘live feed’ compilation album (below) released into stores next Friday. The disc, compiled to help raise much needed funds for the fledgling broadcaster, features live performances from the likes of Sarah Blasko, Metronomy and Holly Throsby, recorded at various venues around Sydney. 100% of the profits from the sale of the disc go directly to the station.
