MARIAH CAREY : O Holy Night
Given the big day in December is just five more sleeps away, we thought it was the perfect time to drag out a Christmas ‘Lookback’ for the year (we might even do one next week to make sure all bases are covered). And this time it’s another cut from Mariah Carey’s evergreen festive season album ‘Merry Christmas’ – ‘O Holy Night’. It’s a gospel soarer that was never officially released on single (though rare promo copies sometimes do the rounds) and we likey very much. The video, set in a gospel church with Christmas tree and Mimi in a velveteen frock, features a slightly different version of the song from that of the album, but it’s still soaring and glorious. Merry Christmas to you.

This is a 2001 remix which was released in some territories as a single which is why there’s a video. The original album version was sent to radio back in 1994/95 but was never commercially released to single.
