We only clapped our eyes on the tracklisting for this one over the weekend, but kudos to Sony Music Australia for bringing together some of their brightest stars for a 17 track collection of Christmas favourites.
There’s a gaggle of former Idol contestants (Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll, Anthony Callea, Damien Leith, Wes Carr and Jess Mauboy are featured), the crooners (Mark Vincent, Katie Noonan and David Campbell) and the pop favourites like Delta Goodrem, Amy Pearson, Cassie Davis and Nat Bassingthwaighte. The disc is out now and below is your tracklisting;
01. Jessica Mauboy – Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)
02. Guy Sebastian – The Christmas Song
03. Katie Noonan – Maybe This Christmas
04. Hugh Sheridan – The Christmas Waltz

I don’t know jon. I reckon Anthony has been living on a prayer for years. Seems a long time since he released an album or had a single to radio. Is he actually in the recording industry any more, or more a musical theatre performer?

Agree totally with ‘jon’. These singers have well outstripped the ‘idol’ label. And good point jestaCat.
Amongst the new songs “O Holy night’ by Anthony Callea is an absolute stand out and Jessica Mauboy’s ‘Miss you most at Christmas” is also very good.

Just wondering… why are artists like Guy Sebastian and Anthony Callea still just ‘former Idol contestants’ when they have years of successful career behind them? Yet Mark Vincent, in his first year, is a ‘crooner’ not a ‘former Australia’s Got Talent contestant’. Is he a crooner anyway? Not a big gripe – just wondering why the labels.
