It’s a musical that’s being billed as bigger than ‘Wicked’ – and as we speak, Victorian Minister for Major Events Tim Holding is at a press conference in Melbourne, revealing that the Broadway hit ‘Rock Of Ages’ will open in Melbourne in April 2011 at the city’s Comedy Theatre.
The show has consistently received rave reviews throughout it’s run, receiving five nominations in the prestigious Tony Awards.
It features plenty of contemporary pop songs too – with one reviewer saying that it “does with ‘80s rock anthems what Mamma Mia did with Abba tunes.”

Aussie auditions commence in June this year, with tickets on sale in October.
