US soul singer Macy Gray hasn’t troubled the Australian chart with anything since her single ‘When I See You’ just cracked the top 40 back in 2003. She’s one of those singers with the instantly recognisable voices (think Heather Small, Vanessa Amorosi) – and it’s not to everyone’s tastes. But it’s sweet and soulful in this new track, the first to be lifted from her forthcoming album ‘The Sellout’.
Lyrically, it’s a little bit hammy, but it’s full of heart, reminding us that indeed, there IS plenty of beauty in the world. And anything that can spread a little love in this day and age has gotta be a good thing – right?

I have always loved Macy, ever since I got an advance copy of On How Life Is back in early 1999. Can’t wait to hear The Sellout.
