Trentemøller’s 2006 debut album ‘The Last Resort’ could very well still be the most regularly played album in the auspOp collection four years on, but the excitement is building as the countdown continues to the release of the second Trentemøller LP, due in June. ‘Sycamore Feeling’ is the first single to be lifted from it and the very dark video has been unveiled.
It features cracked roads, a glamorous woman with a big gold ring.
And the while the track still contains elements of the Danish musician’s previous electronica leanings, ‘Sycamore Feeling’ incorporates more earthy percussive instrumentation, along with guitar and vocals. One could be forgiven for thinking this is from a completely different artist. Will those who celebrated Trentemøller for ‘The Last Resort’ follow? Time will tell.
