It’s now less than a month before the Norwegian capital Oslo comes alive to the sound of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Two semi finals (on May 25 and May 27) will see a host of countries battling it out to make it all the way to the big event – the grand final – on May 29.
As the countdown continues, we look at the entries that are vying for the ultimate prize in European popular music.
Estonia will take part in the first semi final on May 25.
ESTONIA : Malcolm Lincoln – Siren
While the name ‘Malcolm Lincoln’ would lead one to assume that the Estonian entry for Eurovision 2010 is a solo male performer, it’s actually an electro-pop duo consisting of Robin Juhkental and Madis Kubu. The band itself is still relatively new, having only been signed to Universal Music in Estonia last month. In the clip, a man with a rather angular head traipses through the snow until he reaches the relative warmth of a greenhouse. The track itself is a retro-inspired pop number that harks back to the nu-romantic era of the 1980s.
