Well this is it, kids – just two weeks today that the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest kicks off in the Norwegian capital Oslo with the first semi final. Of course, this year’s contest continues in the tradition of having two semi finals (May 25 and 27) and the big grand final on May 29. As you’re well aware by now, we’ve been taking a look at all the entrants who’ll be vying for European’s music’s most coveted prize.
Iceland will compete in semi final No.1 on May 25.
ICELAND : Hera Björk – Je Ne Sais Quoi
We don’t know what the 38 year old Icelandic songstress will do to get over the pond to Norway if that bloody volcano doesn’t stop erupting, but we’re sure there are contingency plans in place in such an event. Singer and TV presenter Hera will perform her co-write during the first semi final in Oslo – and it’s quite possibly the campest thing you’ll hear all Eurovision long. It’s a hands-in-the-air disco anthem, with Hera playing a woman infatuated with a desk clerk in the clip – and she knows just how to get his attention. Ladies and gents, your new drag anthem has arrived.
