It’s now less than a month before the Norwegian capital Oslo comes alive to the sound of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Two semi finals (on May 25 and May 27) will see a host of countries battling it out to make it all the way to the big event – the grand final – on May 29.
As the countdown continues, we look at the entries that are vying for the ultimate prize in European popular music.
Romania will take part in the second semi final on May 27.
ROMANIA : Paula Seling & Ovi – Playing With Fire
It seems the name editors have come out in force for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest – and even the Romanian entry’s not safe. Ovidiu Cernăuţeanu is going by just ‘Ovi’ for the performance of ‘Playing With Fire’ – a track he wrote after winning the prestigious Golden Stag Festival last year. He’s joined on the track by former Golden Stag winner Paula Seling. And you can tell that the Romanians have every confidence in the track, shelling out bucketloads of cash on the video clip (below) including a double ended… piano. Plenty of fun, plenty of CGI and a kick-ass dance-pop track that we reckon is the strongest we’ve heard so far. Awesome!
