The countdown is now entering it’s final stages, with less than two weeks to go before the the Norwegian capital Oslo plays host to the first semi final for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. As always, we’ll be expecting the big frocks, the big numbers, the chord changes, the frocks… Once again this year, the competition is divided into two semi finals (May 25 and 27) and the grand final (May 29).
Switzerland will compete in the second semi-final on May 27.
SWITZERLAND : Michael von der Heide – Il Pleut De L’Or
The Swiss entry for 2010, Michael von der Heide, is no stranger to the music business, with consistent releases in his homeland since 1996. Nor is he a stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest, attempting to represent Germany back in 1999. But in 2010, it’s finally his turn in the spotlight with the song ‘Il Pleut De L’Or’ (‘It’s Raining Gold’). Strangely, though he wears a couple of gold outfits in the clip, we much prefer him in the silver number. A strong vote from neighbouring France could help this one through.
