Yesterday we told you of Sony Australia’s plans to release a bonus edition of Ke$ha’s debut album ‘Animal’. Well today it’s the turn of John Mayer’s fans to go a little bonkers as Sony announces a bonus CD/DVD edition of his latest long player ‘Battle Studies’.
To be released on Friday July 09, the repackage will feature the original album. But it will also come complete with an accompanying DVD, filled with plenty of goodies.
You’ll get the music videos for the singles ‘Who Says’, ‘Heartbreak Warfare’ and ‘Half Of My Heart’, along with the making of the ‘Who Says’ video clip, the ‘Battle Studies’ EPK plus two ‘Live At The Chapel’ performances.
A perfect collector’s package and a great value set for those yet to part with their cash for Mister Mayer’s latest.

Hey Aaron,
According to our Sony sources, the CD contents “will remain the same”.

Count me as (sadly) part of that group!
You wouldn’t happen to know if there’s any bonus audio tracks would you?

Personally I cannot stand these sort of re-issues, or all the ‘bonus’ track nonsense. If a song is good enough to make it onto an album it should be on the album regardless of country.
Record companies are just treating purchasing customers with distain.
Buying an album only to find it later re-released with extras means either you shouldn’t buy it when originally released, or need to hunt for uploaded copies that contain the songs you missed out on when you legimately purchased in the first place. Of course the greedy record companies provide no alternate option for people to obtain just the ‘missing’ DVD portion, for example.
I have no idea how record company people dont see that their behaviour promotes, fosters and forces ‘illegal’ downloading.
