SCISSOR SISTERS : Comfortably Numb
When the Scissor Sisters first appeared on the Australian pop radar in 2004 with ‘Comfortably Numb’, the cover version of Pink Floyd’s 1979 single, people were quick to scoff. Who were these young pop upstarts who made Pink Floyd somehow sound like the Bee Gees? What were they doing making music like this and would they please go away as quickly as possible? Little did the knockers know then that just a couple of years later, the band would be atop the Australian singles chart with their track ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancing’. There’s plenty of underwater action in the clip – Jake’s avoiding eels and dodging jellyfish, while Ana seems to be morphing into a giant octopus thing.
